Freight Policy

Freight Charges

Pricing on Matrix’ website is for product only; freight prices are not included.  Products are shipped from products’ F.O.B. shipping point with freight costs and handling fees pre-paid by Matrix and charged to the customer.  Unless otherwise specified, Matrix will ship “best way”.  Purchaser is responsible for all shipping charges assessed by the shipping carrier.

Purchaser can request shipment via your own freight carrier. When a different freight carrier is specified, product ordered will be shipped freight collect or 3rd party billing to purchaser.  Purchaser is responsible for all charges. The designated freight carrier will bill you for the cost of shipping.

C.O.D. shipments are not permitted.

Overnight and other special shipments must be arranged at time of order with a Matrix representative.

Please contact Matrix for shipments to any location outside of the contiguous United States including: Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Alaska, or Hawaii.

If an item is back-ordered, it will be shipped when it becomes available.

There are several variables that affect freight charges:

FOB Point:

This is the point from which the product ships.  Freight charges are calculated from FOB point to Ship-To Point.  Products ship directly from the manufacturers’ plants or distribution points. Matrix will make every effort to ship from the FOB Point closest to the Ship-To Point.

Ship-To Point:

Address designated by Purchaser that the product will be shipped to.

Ship Method

The carrier designated to transport the product shipment.  Due to product size/weight characteristics, many of Matrix products will require LTL carrier shipment or dedicated shipment rather than parcel.  The carrier we select depends on the Ship-To Point.  Matrix works with our carriers/freight brokers to obtain the best option for shipment. If you are purchasing multiple items, Matrix will always attempt to package them together to obtain a savings on shipping costs.

Fuel Surcharges

Due to the volatility of oil prices, freight carriers may add fuel surcharges.  Freight carrier’s quoted charges can be subject to change without prior notice.

Product

Product dimensions and weights determine freight classification; freight classification is a key factor in freight pricing.

Damaged Shipments

Upon arrival, thoroughly inspect the product & packaging before signing and accepting shipment delivery.  If any damage is visible, accept only after freight driver has noted the damage on your copy and the carrier’s copy of the delivery receipt.  Do not accept delivery and do not sign the receipt unless this is done.

Please retain all packing material for inspection. If, upon opening a shipment, you find a shortage or concealed damage, it must be reported within 72 hours from delivery or you forfeit your right to file a claim. Purchaser is responsible for filing the freight damage claim directly and promptly with the carrier. Matrix’ responsibility for loss and damage ceases when the products are accepted for shipment by the carrier. Title and risk of loss will pass to the customer upon tender of shipment to the carrier.

Freight Estimates

You can contact us prior to placing an order to receive an estimated freight quote. Freight quotes are estimates only – actual freight charges are not determined until the order is shipped.

Shipping Charges

Any extra charges incurred for additional services, such as customer’s carrier, lift gate charges, residential charges or special handling by the carrier, must be paid by the customer. It is the customers’ responsibility to have proper unloading capabilities to handle the product.  Product unloading may require forklifts, pallet jacks, loading docks, etc.
